Potential Governor candidates will need more information, encouragement and reassurance to take the next step and stand for election. Based around an informal presentation led by an FT Governor, small group work, questions and discussion, our session aims to do just this.
We recognise that potential candidates for the Council of Governors’ election will come from a range of different backgrounds and will have varying levels of understanding of the Foundation Trust initiative. Our induction programme is designed to prepare and support prospective candidates through every stage of the election process – from understanding what NHS Foundation Trust status means, to encouraging those that attend the sessions to stand for election.
Our training programme consists of two two-hour sessions, held over the course of one day. These can be held in the same location or in different locations within the Trust area. Our approach focuses on a mixture of presentations and workshops.
We also deliver bespoke Governor Candidate Induction Workshops for service users and carers to ensure their voice is ‘heard’.
