Develop the membership recruitment campaign plan – we develop the framework to enable you to take a planned approach to recruiting a representative membership community.

Recruiting the members - as Monitor focuses both on the equality and quantity of members recruited we can help with both. We recognise the challenge faced by trusts in building a quality membership of an acceptable size. We are delighted to offer Trusts engaging and sustainable methods to recruit a representative membership.

Identifying governor candidates – engaging with enough potential Governors in each constituency to ensure contested elections is a priority for every aspirant FT. We can guarantee an identified number of Governor candidates in a Trust election.

Facilitating governor candidate induction workshops – potential Governor candidates will need more information, encouragement and reassurance to take the next step and stand for election. Based around an informal presentation led by an FT Governor, small group work, questions and discussion, our session aims to do just this.

Developing the trust board – the executive board also now face the challenge of working alongside an elected Council of Governors. We can help the Trust Board to recognise the challenges ahead and devise strategies to optimise the working relationship.

Governor training and supports needs analysis – ensuring Governors training and support needs are properly identified from the outset and that skills and knowledge that Governors bring with them are recognised and utilised to the benefit of the Trust.

Developing a comprehensive induction and training programme – ensuring that a planned and strategic approach is developed and documented to ensure Governors training needs are fully met.

Facilitating governor training – any individual elected to serve on a Council within a new Foundation Trust will need both guidance at the initial stage and development further down the line. We can provide training for new Governors, training for established Councils that have recently welcomed new elected governors and training for executive boards in working with the new Council.
